Student Activities

The ACC supports students in a variety of ways. Students are offered lower registration rates. The ACC also coordinates a conference-wide Student Best Paper Award and provides Student Travel Grants.

Best Student Paper Award Competition

Primary, first-listed authors of regular contributed papers who were students at the time of submission are eligible for the American Control Student Best Paper Award. Nominated papers  will be reviewed by the Student Best Paper Award Committee.  A list of finalists will be announced prior to the conference, where finalists will present papers in a dedicated session.

We encourage nominations from reviewers as well as colleagues, advisors and co-authors.

Deadline for the best student paper nominations is December 17th, 2021.

Student Travel Awards

Student travel awards that support registration provide subsidies for accommodations will be available.  Detailed information and application instructions will be provided in early 2022, once registration opens. As in previous years there will be two types of awards, one for those presenting and another aimed at broadening participation in controls.

Professional Development Activities

Meet the job candidate poster sessions will provide opportunities for faculty, search committee members, and recruiters to speak directly with current graduate students and postdoctoral researchers who are seeking faculty and industrial research positions.

A networking event will enable junior researchers to connect with faculty and industry professionals in an informal setting.  Details to follow.
